There's a new apartment complex coming to the South Main District in downtown Little Rock.

Construction started recently on the South Village Apartments at Quapaw at 1301 Louisiana St. The complex will feature 16 one- and two-bedroom apartments. It's set to open in early 2015.

Some amenities included in the apartments are granite counter tops, walk-in closets, keyless entry gates and fences and secured parking.

The $2 million project is being spearheaded by Stewart Real Estate Development LLC, which is led by Charles O. Stewart.

"South Village will help to meet the need for additional living units in the downtown area, while retaining the architectural integrity of the historic part of our city," Stewart said in a news release.

"With the addition of the South Village Apartments at Quapaw, SoMa will become an even more attractive destination for those int he market for a downtown apartment," he said.
