Georgia Hale Promoted at UA-Fort Smith (Movers & Shakers)

Education

Georgia Hale has been named provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs by the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, where she was most recently associate provost. Hale joined UAFS in 2004 as associate dean of the College of Business, becoming dean of the College of Applied Science & Technology in 2009.

Sondra LaMar, public relations director for almost 42 years at UAFS, has announced her retirement. LaMar has received 44 local, state, district and national awards during her career. She previously worked as a reporter, news director and education writer at publications such as the Southwest Times Record in Fort Smith and the Arkansas Democrat in Little Rock (now the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette).

Curt Rom has been named interim dean of the Honors College at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Rom has served as director of the honors program at the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences since 2011.

Financial Services

Daniel Robinson, vice president of Simmons Bank in Jonesboro, has been appointed 2014-15 president of the Arkansas Bankers Association’s Emerging Leaders Section Council. Kevin Thompson, vice president of lending at Centennial Bank in Fayetteville, has been named vice president. Blake Fletcher, senior vice president and private banking manager at Arvest Bank in Little Rock, has been named secretary/treasurer.

Health Care

Anne Marie Cason has been hired as a dentist at Searcy Dental Associates. In addition to her work in Arkansas, Carson has also traveled to Ecuador to provide free dental services at underserved churches in Quito.

Media & Marketing

Janet Miller has joined Kirkpatrick Creative of Little Rock as senior relationship specialist. Miller previously worked at KLRT-TV, Fox 16, in Little Rock as a senior account executive.

Melissa Tucker has been hired as a copy writer at the Sells Agency of Little Rock. Tucker previously worked as website editor at Bourbon & Boots in Little Rock and as editor at Sync magazine in Little Rock.

Nonprofits

Lyndsey Dumas has been promoted from director of educational operations to vice president of education at the Arkansas Hospital Association in Little Rock.

Real Estate

Jennifer McIntosh has been hired as designer for marketing at Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate & Development in Jonesboro, and Ryan Simpson has been hired as a financial analyst. Simpson was previously an account representative at Centennial Bank in Jonesboro.

Jeramy Stephens, broker and owner of Mossy Oak Properties of Stuttgart, has received the national Agent of the Year award from Mossy Oak Properties Inc., based in West Point, Mississippi. Stephens is a three-time recipient of the award, which recognizes the highest sales volume.

Telecommunications

Shawn Daniel has been promoted to regional sales manager for the Puerto Rico expansion project at Budget Mobile & Budget PrePay Inc. of Little Rock. He retains his title as regional sales manager for central and southeastern portions of the U.S.
