Top Fields for Job Hunters |
College Journal is out with another employment outlook, checking out the top fields for job hunters. Big opportunities are to be had in the health care, technology, or corporate finance and accounting fields, the journal notes. These areas are expected to see the largest increases in job opportunities for executives, managers and professionals this year compared with 2006, recruiters say.The hiring outlook isn't rosy across the board. For example, demand for senior talent is on the decline in the automotive and residential real-estate sectors, they say. To boost your chances of success, focus your search on areas that recruiters are hungry to fill. Those areas shape up list this: In health care, recruiting for nonclinical talent is expected to be most active at large pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life-science companies. In technology, hiring is busiest in Web development, project management, and data warehousing and analysis. (Did we mention that we still have a Web developer position open at our company? We need help, like, yesterday!) Finally, opportunities in corporate finance and accounting can be found in large and midsize publicly traded companies in oil and gas, technology and manufacturing. You can see more of a break down of each industry here. Employment Outlook: Top Fields for Job Hunters [College Journal]

| Web developer needed. Badly |
We're finally getting around to doing what we've needed to do for a looong time around here, and that's hire some Web development help for tech geeks we keep in the basement. No joke. There's four of them down there -- programmers and designers -- and they need help. Buried under a mound of Web development projects they can't possibly get to in this lifetime. Okay, that's probably stretching it. But FLEX360 (the Web development subsidiary of the company that publishes this Web site) needs a solid code monkey, like, yesterday to work on a host of sites for small- to mid-size businesses and other publishing companies. You can see FLEX360' s growing portfolio here. Notes on job requirements are available here and here. You'll need to be adept at HTML, XML, CSS, ASP, ASP.net, VB Script and JavaScript. Time management skills are a necessity. Apply now! And tell them LT sent ya because, yes, there is a finder's fee and, yes, we need some cash to ward off the creditors ...
