| Mean, green and Gene: Cauley's MySpace |
We talk a lot about MySpace around here, for better or worse, and it's always interesting to check out some celebrity homepages. That designation might be stretched a little thin when applied to Little Rock attorney Gene Cauley of Cauley Bowman Carney & Williams, but enough folks know him that his MySpace page was news today on the Wall Street Journal's Law Blog: Well, [MySpace is] also apparently popular with at least one lawyer — S. Gene Cauley of Little Rock-based class-action firm Cauley Bowman Carney & Williams (HT: D&O diary blog). By day, as you can see from Cauley’s law firm Web site bio, he’s a buttoned-up litigator, with impressive education credentials (Vanderbilt Law; U. of Arkansas undergrad, summa cum laude), a ton of trial expreience, and numerous published articles. Last year, the National Law Journal named him one of the “Top 40 lawyers under 40.”But, according to his MySpace page, that barely scratches the surfaces of who “Geno” really is ... The blog goes on to quote Cauley's page, which talks about his "wicked sense of humor," how he "can’t dance worth a [expletive]," "can cook a good steak," and "decided at 11 i was going to be heterosexual. have not looked back since." Good to know. And for those playing along at home, Cauley tell us what he's looking for in the ladies. But that's where we'll stop, except to note that this, once again, goes to show how carefully you should think about putting yourself on the Internet. The Web is forever. Case closed. Update: Cauley responds on his MySpace page: arkansas business is a rag gossip sheet that i line my cat box with. its editor gwen moritz is an angry middle aged overweight woman. i think that is the source of her anger. arkansas business is apparently very interested in all aspects of my life, and writes about me regularly. the wall st. journal on line is also apparently interested in me, and recently blogged my myspace page, although it is largely unintelligible due to numerous misspellings. I guess we won't be getting a "friend" add from him anytime soon.
