The Arkansas Land and Farm Development Corporation hosts this annual conference; this year's theme is “Building Rural Communities Through Social Equality and Economic Development.”

Representative Darrin Williams, recently appointed CEO of Southern Bancorp, Inc., will serve as the morning speaker. Leonard Jordan, the Acting Associate Chief for Conservation, NRCS-United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. will speak during the conference luncheon.

As part of the agenda, ALFDC plans to conduct a hearing session to discuss the Farm Bill, Pigford II, and the most recent Hispanics and Women Farmers and Ranchers claim. The session will:

discuss available resources for rural residents;
discuss new proposed congressional legislation that might impact rural resident and underserved communities;
provide an update on Pigford II;
discuss the claim process for the Hispanic and Women Farmers and Ranchers claim
