Low Voltage Coordinator

The Low Voltage Coordinator will coordinate with the architects and UAMS Design and Construction to ensure that the proper infrastructure is designed into the building for the requested low voltage systems. This includes conduit routes, cable tray, equipment room layouts, power requirements, penetrations, and number and location of jacks or devices. Take daily tours the construction site to visually inspect work performed and note any problems that will impact the low voltage portion of the project and assist UAMS Design and Construction with mediating the resolution of the problem. Identify and document all low voltage systems that the user has requested be installed in the project. Determine if UAMS has a subject matter specialist that will be a point of contact for each required system for this project or if an outside source will need to be identified. Systems currently considered Low Voltage are: Voice and Data Cabling, Fiber, Time/Attendance Clocks, PAC stations, Patient Monitoring, Telemetry, Pyxis, Nurse Call, Code Blue, Intercom, Overhead Paging, Staff Locators, Vocera, Wireless Access Points, TV, Satellite, Audio/Video, Patient Tracker, Class Scheduling, Security, Telephones, Dictation, Radios, EMS radio, Computers, Tube System, Medical Equipment, Fire Alarms, HVAC controls, Med Gas alarms, Paging, Cell Phones. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor''s Degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field plus 2 years project management experience in the area of construction, OR Hgh School diploma plus 6 years project management experience in the area of construction. Must have experience working with low voltage systems. Must have knowledge of NFPA, Electrical Code and JC requirements. Knowledge of MS Project required.
