Description:
The VP of Plant Engineering reports to the CEO and will plan, design, and implement high productivity plant equipment while ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant facility environment. This position is also responsible for the development of plant operational policies, procedures, and processes in order to ensure exceptional resident satisfaction levels, strong employee relations, and the achievement of financial goals.
One of the key roles of the position is to provide leadership in new product design for manufacturing initiatives.
Primary responsibilities
* Planning, designing, and implementing equipment and processes
* Maximizing efficiency in layout of equipment, workflow, and work force
* Meeting productivity goals
* Providing guidance, training, and motivation to staff
* Ensuring proper repair and scheduled maintenance on equipment
* Reviewing, enforcing, and implementing OSHA guidelines
* Developing budgets in conjunction with the operations team
* Identifying areas for improvement and executing plans of correction
* Making judicious determinations pertaining to capital expenditures
* Providing technical oversight of the bid / specification process
* Ensuring strict adherence to all applicable state / federal regulations and company policies
* Assisting other Vice Presidents with interviewing and hiring of maintenance personnel
inimum Qualifications * Comprehensive understanding of building codes and construction regulations
* Specific Sourcing, Procurement & Logistics Process (5+ years)
* Plant Operations Management in manufacturing environment (5+ years)
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate effectively
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with P&L accountability
* Bachelor?s degree in engineering and/or completion of an appropriate Journeyman program strongly preferred
* Knowledge and training in Supply Chain Management and Negotiations
* Strong with metrics (i.e. pricing, delivery, costs, quality audits, KPI?s)
* Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
* Computer literate: Microsoft Office, ERP (i.e. Oracle or SAP)
