Process Control Technician

Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Act as the site specialist for Automation and Process Control in support of Operations. Utilize automations systems (PLC’s, HMI, instrumentation) to increase throughput, quality, and reliability.


Description of Essential Duties:
•Maintain the process infrastructure including servers, PLCs, work stations, etc.
•Be the site specialist for SCADA system (Citect) with the ability to take a project from conception thru completion
•Key contact for project integration, both internal and external.
•AC & DC motor drive installation & troubleshooting specialist
•Interact with area operators to discover and address issues
•Work with the planners on down day planning and daily work
•Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long term fix.
•Complete assigned work orders or other PM/PdM activities based on established priority and return completed paperwork.
•Active member of the Craft Enhancement Committee, working to enhance the skills of all technicians.
•Be a member of the Maintenance on-call rotation
•Responsible for all process control related documentation, including wiring diagrams, P&IDs, Instrumentation, and records of any changes.
•Responsible for all process control SMPs
•Responsible for communicating changes with teams.

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•AC & DC Drive troubleshooting and installation experience
•Demonstrated knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
•Demonstrated knowledge of Industrial Communication Skills (ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet)
•Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electricity, both power and control circuits
•Demonstrated Server and PC knowledge
•Demonstrated SCADA (Citect HMI) knowledge
•Familiarity of the basic functions of a CMMS system
