Multi-disciplined engineering firm Garver is hiring a Finance Administrator for our corporate support staff.
This position will:
•Analyze and interpret incoming vendor invoices, routing to the appropriate person for approval.
•Verify general ledger accounts being charged are consistent with GAAP and internal policy.
•Recommend and assist in implementing new or revised accounting systems and procedures.
•Detect possible weaknesses of internal controls and standard accounting procedures and recommend solutions.
•Annually file corporate 1099, 1096 and monthly Sales Tax Returns.
•Plan and initiate work assignments with minimum direction
•Assist in gathering information and responding to inquiries from outside professionals in reference to outstanding invoices and payment questions or concerns.
•Potential supervision of other staff on various projects and reports including Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, and general accounting processes.
•Allocate and deposit client payments.
·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
·Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
·Three years of accounting or related experience
·Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures), especially differences between accrual and cash accounting
