Food Scientist - Culinary Research and Development

OK Foods currently has an opportunity for a Food Scientist at the Fort Smith corporate headquarters. The Food Scientist conducts research on current products, new product research and development, as well as developing new and improved methods and systems for food processing, production, and packaging. In addition, the incumbent will study methods to improve quality of foods, such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods. Develop food standards, testing of new products, development of specific processing methods, and confer with process engineers, flavor experts, and packaging and marketing specialists to resolve issues. Customer relationship management is a key part of this role.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred, in a food science related field. Culinary training/education is highly desired. A minimum of five years of combined culinary and food science experience. Communication and relationship building skills are required.
