Desktop Support/Webmaster


Reporting to the Director of Computer Information Systems and the Liaison to the President, the Desktop Support/Webmaster will be responsible for the website’s design, configuration, and updates, as well as provide website/desktop support of user equipment on the PSC Net and PSC Wi-Fi. Other duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Job Functions:
• Provide daily desktop support
• Assist the Director/Liaison as needed
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair computer related equipment
• Advise the Director/Liaison on the technical needs of the College
• Maintain a quality inventory of equipment and software
• Provide training on software and equipment to faculty, staff, and students
• Maintain backup and tape drive equipment
• Install software as well as configure and maintain desktop equipment
• Assist the Public Relations/Marketing Director
• Provide webpage support for all PSC departments and student organizations
• Knowledge of the OmniUpdate website program

Additional Responsibilities:
• Assist and advise the Director/Liaison in monitoring software/hardware needs
• Recommend needed changes relating to technology and equipment
• Resolve connectivity issues
• Remain current on technology and advancements to better serve the College
• Assist with all database issues
• Train and assist faculty and staff on managing websites

Experience Required:
• Knowledge of computers as a user
• Knowledge of computers as an administrator
• Ability to solve computer software and hardware issues
• Ability to train faculty, staff, and students on technical equipment as it pertains to their job/assignments
• Knowledge of web programming

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• Three (3) years’ work experience in a computer environment
• Knowledge of network maintenance, infrastructure, hardware, websites, and software
