Manage projects by applying technical and business knowledge in the analysis, evaluation, creation, implementation and support of business solutions. The Business Systems Analyst solves organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing, designing and configuring business systems; recommending system controls and protocols.
Required Skills


Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
Support new system configurations by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications; testing configurations.
Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements, forming a project team as needed.
Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
Evaluate and assist implementation of system upgrades and new releases.
Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures; monitor systems access rights.
Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation, as well as train users as needed.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Coordinate project tasks across the organization.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
May perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Experience Required

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Information Systems, Accounting, Management Information Systems or related field, plus seven (7) years’ job-related experience.

Preferred Requirements:
At least eight (8) years of industry experience.

Most Critical Proficiencies:

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to conduct needs assessments with clients to identify business and marketing requirement to translate into project plans.
Skilled with looking for business opportunities to streamline processes with automated solutions, both internally and externally.
Working knowledge of monitoring budgets and financial transactions.
Extensive knowledge of business issues and processes as well as information technology resources and enabling technologies.
Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and the context to which not-for-profit organizations operate.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong English language skills, both oral and written.
Excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database and electronic mail software (Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
