Minimum Qualifications and Additional Requirements
Traffic Signal Apprentice:
two (2) years of vocational or technical school coursework or apprenticeship in electrical trades work
two (2) years of experience in the installation of electronic devices, OR two (2) years of experience as a Traffic Signal Technician, or a related area.
Must obtain Arkansas Class B (Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License without "Vehicle without Airbrakes" restriction within six (6) months of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
Traffic Signal Technician I:
technical or vocational school coursework or apprenticeship in electrical trades work completion of a recognized four (4) year electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent training, OR three (3) years of experience as a skilled Electrician/Traffic Signal Technician, or related area
one (1) year of personal computer experience.
Must obtain Arkansas Class B (Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License without a "Vehicle without Airbrakes" restriction within six (6) months of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Signals Level I certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
