Growing up, Ryan Kibler had a dream of becoming the president of a Fortune 500 company.
But as he started to grow his roots in northeast Arkansas, Kibler realized that he didn’t want to leave after graduating in 1993 with a degree in business management from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.
Kibler, along with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, became co-owners of Builders of Jonesboro. The company changed its name to Construction Network Inc. in 1997, and Kibler remains its vice president.
But Kibler’s biggest mark on the business world would come as a result of his noticing a need for an ambulance service company in northeast Arkansas. In 2001, Kibler and his father-in-law and brother-in-law bought the assets of another ambulance service company and launched Medic One LLC of Jonesboro.
The company, under Kibler’s leadership as president, has been growing ever since. The first year it transported 1,250 patients, and in 2011, it handled nearly 24,000, said Kibler, 42. His goal is to deliver 30,000 patients in 2012.
He said the company’s revenue grew 7 percent in 2011 over 2010’s figure, but he declined to say what the revenue was.
The company has 117 employees and 11 locations in northeast Arkansas and southern Missouri.
The secret of the company’s success is that Kibler has “grown our business one person and one patient at a time,” he said. He also said the employees treat each patient as if he or she were family.
