Robert Moore
State Rep. Robert Moore, D-Arkansas City, was first elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2007. Moore was confirmed as speaker of the House at the beginning of the 88th General Assembly. He has made transportation funding a priority, introducing a bill that would allow the state's voters to decide on extending and raising the state diesel tax by 5 cents a gallon. Moore estimated the tax would, over a period of 10 years, raise $1.1 billion for state highway improvements.
