The 2010 Arkansas Business list of the state's largest private companies showed some companies in the energy sector taking huge hits when it came to their 2009 revenue. One exception? Flash Market Inc. The company jumped from the No. 18 spot on the 2009 list to the No. 14 spot, with a revenue increase of 9.2 percent in 2008 compared with 2009. Shane Patterson has stepped up his leadership of the company since the death last May of his father, company president Harold Patterson. Flash Market and its affiliated petroleum company, Flash Market Oil of Arkansas Inc., own, operate or supply fuel to more than 150 retail locations in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi.
