In 2011, Joe Foley, a 1979 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, completed his eighth season as coach of the women's basketball team at UALR. He was named Coach of the Year for the Sun Belt Conference for both 2010 and 2011, and he was the 2010 Russell Athletic/WBCA Regional Coach of the Year. The Trojans were invited to the NCAA Women's Tournament but lost to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the first round.
