Reynie Rutledge, an alumnus of the Worthen Bank organization, began building today’s $3.5 billion-asset First Security Bancorp. in 1977 when he was 27. The holding company ranked among the 25 most profitable banking operations in the nation during 2010 with an ROA of 2.17 percent. Rutledge has kept the focus of First Security on Arkansas, declining to bid on failed banks auctioned off by regulators. The company's last buy was Union Bank of Benton in June 2009.
