John Simone took over an ailing USA Truck in February 2013. The trucking company has posted five consecutive years of annual net losses, including $9.1 million last year. Simone had to fend off a hostile takeover bid by a competitor, which helped boost share price from $4.75 when he became CEO to a closing price of $17.57 on July 18. Annual revenue increased more than 8 percent in Simone’s first year.
