Hudson, Cisne & Co. was established in 1987 by Johnny Hudson, Richard Cisne and Roxie Keeling-Culp to provide accounting, consulting and tax audit services to closely held businesses. Since then, the firm has grown from four professionals to 35 employees.
Johnny Hudson, partner, says that client referrals have played a significant role in the size increase. "Our growth has come from our own clients referring business to us. You can't get any better advertising than that."
Although proud of the growth and success of the company, Hudson emphasizes that the company focuses on quality service rather than volume. "We want to make certain that we grow in the controlled manner so we can continue to provide the same quality service," he says. "If we had the attitude that we wanted to be the largest in town and ignored the service aspect of it, we'd be out of business as time goes by. Without clients we can all go home."
Hudson, Cisne & Co. has built a solid foundation of client service. "We strive to eliminate 'surprises' in the area of financial statement disclosures and income tax preparation and planning," Hudson says. "We also have experience with growing companies, which enables us to advise clients sooner and help them anticipate changes required by their growth.”
The firm has years of experience serving clients in many industries, including government, not-for-profit, construction, cooperative, farming, medical, manufacturing, transportation, automobile dealerships and financial institutions.
To provide quality service, the staff must be well-educated and motivated, and Hudson stresses that Hudson, Cisne & Co.'s staff is among the best. "We endeavor to hire staff that are well-rounded, highly motivated, well-educated and who can interact with clients and their personnel," Hudson says. "By knowing the demands of a service business, we have provided good leadership for our staff."
To provide more continuing education and training, Hudson, Cisne & Co. joined the BDO Seidman Alliance.
