Heartland Bank is officially headquartered in Little Rock as of Oct. 16.
The 922-SF leased facility at 5100 Kavanaugh Blvd. in the Heights area is likely the smallest bank HQ in all of Arkansas.
The location, remembered as a trolley stop way back when, has housed a series of lenders since a bank branch was built in 1981.
Heartland had been based in Bryant since 2004, which coincided with its $28.9 million sale to an investment group led by Walter Quinn of Little Rock.
Today’s $216.4 million-asset lender was chartered originally as First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Camden.
The name change to Heartland occurred in 1996 and set the stage for the thrift going public for a short and bumpy run under the banner of HCB Bancshares Inc.
