Arkansas Running Backs Coach Joel Thomas Signs Extension

1 min read

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas has signed a contract extension through June 2016 in a deal that increases his salary from $245,000 to $280,000.

Razorback head coach Bret Bielema announced the new deal on Wednesday. Thomas signed the extension last week, according to details in his five-page contract.

Arkansas returns two of the most accomplished running backs in the program’s history this season.

Jonathan Williams enters 2015 as the school’s 10th all-time leading rusher with 2,321 career rushing yards. Alex Collins ranks 14th in school history with 2,126 rushing yards entering his junior season.

Williams and Collins were the only pair of FBS teammates to rush for 1,000-plus yards in the 2014 season.
