Darden Restaurants Hires CFO of Wal-Mart’s US Stores

Darden Restaurants Inc. on Friday named Jeffrey Davis as its senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective July 16.

Davis most recently worked as executive vice president and CFO for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s U.S. stores division. Davis joined the Bentonville retailer in 2006 as vice president of finance for Walmart U.S. was later named executive vice president and treasurer.

“Jeff is an operationally-focused CFO with a track record of helping businesses thrive,” Darden CEO Gene Lee said in a news release. “His wide-ranging experience and leadership style is a perfect fit for our organization. We are thrilled to have Jeff join our senior leadership team at Darden.”

Davis replaces Brad Richmond, who is leaving Darden at the end of the month after 32 years with the company.

Darden is a national, publicly traded (NYSE: DRI) chain with more than 1,500 restaurants that generate about $6.8 billion in annual sales. The company employs about 150,000 people. Its brands include Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse.
