Joe L. Allbritton, Founder of KATV Parent Company, Is Dead at 87
Joe L. Allbritton, the founder of Allbritton Communications, which owns KATV-TV, Channel 7, in Little Rock and political news website Politico, has died at age 87.
Allbritton is the father of the company's current chairman and CEO, Robert Allbritton. WJLA-TV, the company's flagship television station, has details here. Politico has a lengthy obituary here.
The ABC affiliate said Joe L. Allbritton died just 17 days short of his 88th birthday.
