Windstream Closing 30 Retail Locations By February

1 min read

Windstream Corp. of Little Rock has announced it is closing 30, or about half, of its retail locations across 11 states, including one in Arkansas.

Spokesman Scott Morris said the closures were the result of a shift in customer behavior.

“More and more consumers are doing more and more shopping online,” he said.

Morris said the only store in Arkansas affected is in Harrison. Others are in Georgia, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas. About 60 employees will be affected by the closures, and the locations should be closed by the end of February.

Windstream retail locations are hubs for customers to pay service bills, initiate service or buy service-related products. Before the closures, the company had about 60 locations.
