Buckley O’Mell Gets New Title at LR Regional Chamber of Commerce (Super Mover)

Background: A Marianna native, Buckley O’Mell received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business in Fayetteville. He served as president and recruitment chairman of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and currently serves on the fraternity’s alumni board. While earning a juris doctor degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law, he worked for Wal-Mart Realty and acted as president of the law school student body.

Experience: After leaving Wal-Mart Realty, O’Mell moved to Little Rock and continued to practice commercial real estate brokerage. He is employed with Flake & Kelley Commercial and has represented a number of corporate clients, including Starbucks and food franchise Panera Bread. He also serves on the boards of several community service projects and organizations, notably the River Market Advisory Committee, the Downtown Little Rock Partnership and the First Tee of Central Arkansas. He is also co-chairman of the Main St. Food Festival, a newly created annual event that takes place on the south side of downtown Little Rock.

Position: As vice president of advocacy for the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, O’Mell will continue to use his experience and skills in public service to promote community outreach and improvement.

“Buckley has spent his career building business and social relationships throughout the region and the state,” said Jay Chesshir, President and CEO of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. “As the primary voice of business in the region, it’s crucial for our Chamber to have an experienced communicator sharing our message, and Buckley is perfectly suited for the challenge.”

O’Mell has said he looks forward to “contributing to the mission of economic growth and job creation.”
