Windstream Corp. of Little Rock on Monday experienced “widespread” outages of its long-distance and toll-free phone services.
Spokesman Scott Morris said the outages began at about 10:30 a.m. and also affected the company’s inbound call centers, preventing many customers from reaching the company. Both businesses and residences were affected by the outages.
The company has phone services in 48 states and reports of the outages have been made in multiple states.
“We don’t know how many were impacted,” Morris said.
As of Monday afternoon, the main Windstream website was down, but a support page loaded and displayed a message acknowledging the outages.
Morris reported Monday afternoon that service had been restored to all but a very few small areas.
