Whirlpool Adding 150 Jobs to Tulsa Appliance Plant

1 min read

TULSA, Okla. — Whirlpool Corp. says it will add 150 jobs to its factory in Tulsa and spend $19 million to expand the facility.

The Benton Harbor, Mich.-based company announced the expansion on Thursday. The company says the work is part of a plan to invest $1 billion in its U.S. operations.

The company already employs 850 people at its plant in north Tulsa at the Cherokee industrial Park.

The expansion will enable Whirlpool to produce what it calls “a new cooking product.”

In 2012, Whirlpool closed its plant in Fort Smith, leaving 800 people jobless.
