Trial Begins for Former UCA Official in Test Thefts

1 min read

CONWAY – A former University of Central Arkansas student says UCA’s ex-chief of staff gave him campus master keys so he could steal tests from the offices of professors.

Cameron Stark testified Monday in the trial of Jack Gillean, who faces six counts of commercial burglary.

Stark testified that he and Gillean became close friends and that Gillean hired him to work in the UCA president’s office. Stark said he later asked Gillean if he had keys to access offices and that Gillean provided him with a master key.

Defense attorney Tim Dudley said during opening statements that Stark took the keys from Gillean’s apartment without Gillean’s knowledge.

Stark has been given immunity from prosecution in return for his testimony.

Gillean resigned June 15th, 2012, after being questioned about the keys.
