ARKANSAS BAPTIST COLLEGE SCOTT FORD CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT was dedicated in 2015 as the hub of the college’s efforts to develop entrepreneurs who want to build for-profit companies while serving their community.
THE ARKANSAS REGIONAL INNOVATION HUB through programs and partnerships, is creating a collaborative environment. At its Innovation Center in North Little Rock’s Argenta District. The Hub promotes innovation that will drive economic development and create opportunities for training and experience.
FEW, the web design and mobile applications company, has become a nationally-recognized digital partner. Few has tackled massive projects for industry giants like Wells Fargo, 7-Eleven, Armor and several state governments, while attracting some of the South’s best talent.
LIFT THE ROCK, is a local program designed to integrate growing startup companies with the established business community in Central Arkansas. Startup entrepreneurs present their company with a clear focus on driving sales. This focus leads to more valuable connections which results in increased business development for the entire community. Participants connect, network and celebrate successes each week.
LITTLE ROCK TECHNOLOGY PARK is an initiative of the Little Rock Regional Chamber, City of Little Rock, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The Little Rock Technology Park Authority creates the region’s first technology park, anticipated to be a major economic driver for the next 30 years. As of August 2017, the Tech Park had 32 tenants and was near full occupancy.
NOBLE IMPACT, The education initiative founded at the Clinton Presidential Center, partnered with the chamber to connect current chamber member business leaders with the business leaders of tomorrow. The next generation offered businesses a fresh take on brand perception.
VC FINTECH ACCELERATOR EMPOWERED BY FIS is focused on the grassroots growth of entrepreneurial and technology development in Central Arkansas. The Venture Center’s FinTech Accelerator is a collaboration with Little Rock-based financial services technology company FIS Global. The accelerator, powered by FIS, is a 12-week intensive program designed to accelerate the growth of early-stage financial technology ventures for a select group of startups.
THE VENTURE CENTER helps startups obtain customer validation and reach viability through systematic programming, premium mentorship that leverages best practices in lean methodology, and strategic acceleration with an eye on reaching scale and creating measurable economic impact.
There are many in the tech industry that think of designers and developers as commodities. This line of thinking simply doesn’t work any more. At any time, with little to no overhead, a skilled coder with ambition can become an entrepreneur and change the world. There’s never been a better time in history to do something great, and there are few better places to do it than Arkansas. The Governor says Arkansas is open for business. You better believe we are.
