Kudos: Arkansas businesses receive recognition

►The Huntsville facility of Butterball Inc. has been recognized by the Arkansas Department of Labor for achieving 7 million worker hours without a lost-time injury. This achievement represents five years without a work-related injury or illness by the facility's 630 employees.

►Four locations of ABF Freight System Inc. of Fort Smith have received the President's Quality Award from ABF President and CEO Roy Slagle. The locations are in Kansas City, Mo., Seattle, Ogden, Utah, and St. Joseph, Mo.

►Alliance Rubber, based in Hot Springs, recently received the Manufacturing Extension Partnership's Excellence in Innovation Award. The award recognizes those companies that contribute to manufacturing innovation development and implementation.

►J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell, the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System, based in Little Rock, and the Rogers facility of Bekaert Corp. were selected as semifinalists for the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, given by the Department of Defense. The award is the highest recognition given by the department to employers for support of their National Guard and Reserve employees.
