Remember when Whispers reported that the Chi family behind Little Rock’s Sushi Cafe was opening a new restaurant in Little Rock?
At the time, all Whispers could report was that the new place would open in the first quarter of 2012 on the 5500 block of Kavanaugh Boulevard.
We’ve since confirmed that the restaurant is called Tao Chi and will feature a lounge, possibly with a fondue menu. If renovations go as planned, the eatery should open in April.
Ryan Lasiter of Doyle Rogers Co. said his company developed the property and R&L Properties General Partnership owns the restaurant’s location in the Shops in the Heights center. Four or five small storefronts have been combined into the 5,111-SF restaurant space, part of which once housed Colaianni Piano, he said.
(Correction, March 28, 2012: The corporate name of the owner of storefronts in Shops in the Heights has been corrected.)
