Tracy Young has been promoted to partner with BKD LLP in Little Rock. Corey Jennings has been promoted to senior manager, and Ernie Skyrme has been promoted to manager, both in the Little Rock office. Joel Haaser has been promoted to manager at the Fort Smith office.
Park Estes has been elected chairman of the board of the Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association for 2011-12. Estes works for APAC Central Inc. in Fort Smith. Tim Gorman of the Rogers Group Inc. in Conway has been elected vice chairman. Benson Cashion, president of the Cashion Co. in Little Rock, has been elected secretary-treasurer. Butch Case, Rick Christian, Steve Cranford, Steve Forsgren, Mark Lamberth, Ric Neubert, Steve Thweatt, Harold Townsend and Guy Washburn will serve as directors. Cranford, of Cranford Construction Co. in North Little Rock, is past chairman. John T. Suskie is executive director.
David L. Miller has been named vice chancellor and chief information officer at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Miller previously was executive director of information systems at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Penny Hitt, Morris Seawel, Elaine Wade and Robbie and Mona Shackleford were all honored as 2010-11 Distinguished Service Award recipients by Harding University in Searcy. Hitt has served Harding Academy for 19 years. Seawel is associate director of admissions. Wade is a benefit specialist in human resources. The Shackelfords received the award as a couple. They serve the Harding University in Florence program in Italy.
Robert Mitchell has received the Hall of Fame medal from the University of Arkansas College of Engineering in Fayetteville. Mitchell is the program manager of the Cassini-Hyugens mission to Saturn for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Those receiving Distinguished Alumni Awards were Kevin W. Brown, senior vice president of refining at LyondellBasell in Houston; James M. Davis, co-founder of Celcore Inc. in Fayetteville; Jack A. Giles, retired president of Advanced Technology Group of COBHAM Sensor Systems; William A. Harrison, president of Trane Arkansas in Little Rock; Richard M. Rorex, vice president of rice milling and engineering at Riceland Foods Inc. in Jonesboro; Jeffery C. Sanders, CEO of Eclipse Electronic Systems in Richardson, Texas; and Garry Young, director of nuclear business development at Entergy Nuclear in Russellville. Charles D. Jeffers, William T. Sommers and James P. Strickland all received Young Alumni Awards.
Denise Chiarizzio has joined Snyder Environmental in Little Rock as business management director. Chiarizzio has previously worked with the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality and served for 13 years as the president of EnviroPro.
Lawson Baker is the newest Capital Markets Group associate with Crews & Associates Inc. in Little Rock. Baker previously practiced as a transactional bond attorney. Adam Bell, Scott Bacon, Lance Wilcox, Reed Willet and Alonzo Williams are the newest account executives with the firm.
Carol Graham is the new assistant vice chancellor for outpatient services at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Graham previously served as vice president for ambulatory care services at Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Troy A. Price has been elected to membership in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Price is a partner with Wright Lindsey & Jennings LLP in Little Rock.
Shelly Lane has been named the major gifts officer of the Arkansas Foodbank in Little Rock. Lane has previously served as president of the Foodbank's board and received the Individual Hunger Hero Award in 2010.
David Zakrzewski and Dan C. Young are the newest board members of CareLink in North Little Rock. Zakrzewski is president and chief executive officer of Coulson Oil in North Little Rock. Young is an attorney with the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock.
Vicky Morris has joined Baxley Penfield Moudy in Bryant as a real estate agent. Morris will primarily sell in Saline and Pulaski counties.
Julie Arnold has joined American Data Network in Little Rock as a marketing assistant. Arnold previously worked for Healthport, based in Alpharetta, Ga., as a service specialist in Arkansas.
