U.S. Supreme Court approval of the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act has left business leaders wondering how it will affect their companies and employees.
What are the tax implications? The legal requirements? What other rules and regulations will employers have to follow?
These questions and more will be addressed at the Arkansas Business Health Care Reform Symposium on Sept. 11 in the Wally Allen Ballroom at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

"Health care reform affects businesses big and small, so we've assembled experts to explain and analyze the many facets of health insurance impacted by the new law," Arkansas Business President & Publisher Jeff Hankins said. "We have always strived to cover and provide a forum on the latest business trends and issues, and we hope you will find the information shared by our speakers to be helpful."
Speakers begin at 9 a.m., with an address by Dr. Joe Thompson, the Arkansas surgeon general and director of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement.
At 9:20 a.m., Juliana Reno, partner at Kutak Rock, will talk about the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on health care reform.
At 9:30 a.m., a moderated panel discussion will consider how employers will comply with the law. Panelists are Mike Stock of QualChoice, John Denery of Stephens Insurance; Reno; and Chris Doolittle of BKD.
Another panel dicussion during lunch at 11:30 will consider reforms costs to the state and health care providers. Panels are Bradford; John Selig of DHS; state Sen. Jonathan Dismangl; and Peter Bank of St. Vincent Health System.
