Movers & Shakers (Nov. 23, 2009)

John Rettinger has been promoted to vice president and chief operating officer of TAC Energy, a division of the Truman Arnold Cos. of Texarkana, Texas. Rettiger joined the company in 2007 as vice president of wholesale marketing, and will now also be responsible for company retail stores and fuel terminals.

Christian Sasfai has been named vice president and chief operating officer and Daniel Walsh director of fixed-base operator services for TAC Air, also a division of the Truman Arnold Cos. Sasfai joined TAC Air in 2006 with more than 20 years of experience in airport and FBO management, and will be responsible for company growth and operations. Walsh joined TAC Air in 1997 as a general manager in Lexington, Ken., and has more than 30 years of aviation experience.

Jason Garner, an engineer in the project planning and development group of Mid-South Engineering Co. in Hot Springs, has passed the professional engineering exam. Garner is also vice president of the Hot Springs Society of Professional Engineers.

Financial Services
Corey Bryant has been hired by the Centennial Bank private banking division in Little Rock as vice president of commercial lending. Bryant will oversee commercial lending with a specialty in industrial and commercial finance.

Angele Forrest has been hired by Transamerica Worksite Marketing in Little Rock as the new marketing director. Forrest was previously special projects coordinator for the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, where she focused on the "World of the Pharaohs" exhibit opening. Transamerica Worksite Marketing specializes in payroll deduction and voluntary insurance sales.

Howard McCain has been hired by OneBanc, where he will be senior vice president of lending for the Little Rock branch in the Heights.
Whit Penick has been named business banking officer for Arvest Bank in Little Rock. Penick, previously a consumer loan officer and credit analyst, will now specialize in commercial relationships for small businesses.

Audwin Vaughan has been named president for Bank of the Ozarks in Cabot. Vaughan has 24 years of banking experience and was previously president for a community bank in Jacksonville. Vaughan lives in Cabot and is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. John Carter was also hired as vice president of commercial lending for Bank of the Ozarks in Little Rock, and Tim Hicks has been named senior vice president for corporate finance.

Health Care
Robert Lyons has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer for St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock. Lyons was previously chief operating officer at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
John Lindsey, the clinical supervisor of respiratory therapy at St. Joseph's Mercy Health System in Hot Springs, has been named Arkansas Respiratory Therapist of the Year by the Arkansas Society for Respiratory Care. Lindsey has received the award six times. Lindsey is also director-at-large of the American Association for Respiratory Care's Board of Directors 

Dr. Richard Nugent has been awarded the Maternal & Child Health Bureau Director's award by the National Title V Maternal & Child Health Federal/State Partnership. Nugent is family health branch chief and associate director for science for the Arkansas Department of Health. Nugent is also a professor in the department of health policy and management for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
Dr. Ronald Winters, dean of the UAMS College of Health Related Professions in Little Rock, has been awarded the Legacy of Excellence award by the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions.

Chris Monroe and Sharon Dickerson have been hired by RxResults, a pharmacy benefit consulting company in Little Rock. Monroe will be national director of sales and Dickerson will be head of public sector sales. Monroe previously held lead sales and management roles for various businesses, and Dickerson was formerly executive director of the Arkansas State Employee Benefits Division.

Larry Carpenter has been named to the Little Rock Advertising & Promotion Commission. Carpenter is owner and president of the Holiday Inn Presidential Conference Center in Little Rock and Carpenter Hotel Group LLC. Carpenter's appointment was approved by the Little Rock Board of Directors.
Bob Martorana, a 35-year hospitality industry executive, has been named general manager of Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa in Hot Springs. Martorana was previously general manager of the Peabody Groups Hilton Little Rock Metro Center. He succeeds Franz Viertbauer, who is retiring.

Donna Pettus has been awarded the Gayle Pettus Ponce award by the University of Arkansas School of Law Women's Law Student Association in Fayetteville. The award is given to woman attorneys involved in the community. Pettus is currently president of the Arkansas Bar Association, the first woman president of the association who graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.
