Jacoby will join the firm as vice chairman and senior principal. He is one of several new additions the firm announced on Thursday.
Also joining the group are:
● Rick Turner, senior managing principal,
● Bob Schulte, chief financial officer, and
● Jim Jacoby Jr., Kent Sorrells and Hunter Carpenter, principals.
The new Stephens Group was formed in May when the Stephens family reorganized the businesses founded by the late brothers Jack and Witt Stephens. Warren Stephens, son of Jack, bought 100 percent of Stephens Inc. from the holding company, The Stephens Group. His cousins, Witt Stephens Jr. and Elizabeth Stephens Campbell, bought the Stephens Group Inc. name and formed a new entity to pursue private equity investments.
The families remain 50-50 partners in the holding company, now renamed SH Corp. It operates joint investments such as Las Vegas-based Stephens Media Group and Stephens Production Co.
Ron Clark, the former CEO of Rose Law Firm PA of Little Rock, also joined the newly formed Stephens Group, becoming the firm's general counsel.
Jacoby had long been a key Stephens executive, helping launch the initial public offerings of Arkansas' most successful companies, including Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville and Alltel Corp. of Little Rock.
