Dan Daugherty, a 28-year public relations veteran, received the Crystal Award, while Doyle Rogers, a longtime banker, realtor and developer, received the Diamond Award.
The Crystal Award is given to a public relations practitioner for lifetime achievements in the profession. The Diamond Award is given to a professional outside of public relations who has used the profession's principals to benefit Arkansas.
Daugherty has worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone, AT&T, Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, Alltel Information Services and Entergy. He has been a member of PRSA since 1987 and served as president of the organization in 1992.
Rogers is chairman of the Doyle Rogers Co., a commercial real estate firm with offices in Little Rock and Batesville. He is also chairman of the board of Metropolitan National Bank of Little Rock.
Rogers is credited with sparking the revitalization of downtown Little Rock with his development plans of the then-Excelsior Hotel and the Statehouse Convention Center. He also developed the Stephens Building and was inducted into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame this year.
There are only eight other recipients of the Diamond Award since 1989: Louis Ramsay, William H. Bowen, Townsend Wolfe, Senator David Pryor, Rett Tucker, Mack McLarty , Richard Davies and Charles Hathaway.
