Frank McGehee, the owner of the Little Rock restaurant, bar and live music venue Juanita's, died Wednesday, has learned.

Other details were not yet available.

The funeral is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Church at 310 W. 17th St. in Little Rock. Workers at Legacy Capital Group of Little Rock, where McGehee was CEO, were preparing a statement about McGehee.

McGehee founded Juanita's, at 1300 S. Main St. in Little Rock, about 20 years ago. Mark Abernathy, who now owns the Loca Luna and Bene Vita restaurants near Riverdale in Little Rock, was the creative force behind it, running the operation while McGehee funded it. The pair's partnership ended in the late 1990s and resulted in legal disputes over bank loans and property.

As CEO of Legacy Capital Group, McGehee led one of the largest corporate benefits firms in Arkansas. The firm is a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly traded National Financial Partners Corp. and a joint venture between the Arkansas entity and Legacy Capital Group California Inc.

Earlier this year, McGehee talked to Arkansas Business leadership columnist I. Barry Goldberg for a piece Goldberg wrote on executive coaching.

McGehee's family has asked that in lieu of flowers mourners make memorials or donations to the Accademia dell'Arte in Italy or Bechstein Hall, a project he was working on with his brother, Jim. will update this story.
