This year’s Emerging Professional Award recipient is Chris M. Baribeau, AIA, the principal architect of Fayetteville-based Modus Studio, which he co-founded in 2008.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas’ Fay Jones School of Architecture, Baribeau has contributed to a plethora of award-winning, widely-published projects in the region and nation. He uses the tender balance of nature and man in the Ozark area as daily inspiration, creating pieces that mimic the symbiosis between man-made and natural structures.
Modus Studio integrates a young, progressive outlook, blending the sophistication of design and intricacy of architecture, graphic, prototype and fabrication work into a tightly woven architectural experience.
Baribeau was a project architect for Marlon Blackwell Architect from 2003-2008, the Fay Jones School of Architecture architectural liaison in 2009 and a convention speaker chair at AIA Arkansas in 2010-2011. His works have been featured in publications such as CitiScapes, At Home In Arkansas, the Northwest Arkansas Times, AY, Harvard Design, Residential Architect and Architecture Record.
