The Barber Law Firm of Little Rock is seeking nominations for Arkansas-based nonprofits or those charities that make a significant impact in the lives of Arkansans for its third annual Century Fund donation through Aug. 15.
The firm's board of directors will choose the top three nominees, and then a Facebook poll conducted in late August through early September will determine the charity that will receive the $5,000 gift from the fund. The winner will be announced in mid-September.
Nomination guidelines and forms can be found at BarberLawFirm.com.
"The Century Fund is our way of supporting our community the way it has supported us the past 100 years," Joe Kolb, a partner at the Barber Law Firm, said in a news release. "We are committed to improving the lives of people in our state and helping nonprofits advance their missions."
The firm established the Century Fund in 2010, when it celebrated its 100th anniversary. As the fund gradually increases over a century, the firm expects to produce about $8 million in charitable donations, providing larger contributions in the future.
The Arkansas Children's Hospital Diabetes Research Working Group received the inaugural donation in 2010 and the firm supported the Centers for Youth & Families in 2011.
