Doyle Phillips Named National Estimator of the Year (Movers & Shakers, Sept. 3, 2012)

Doyle Phillips was named National Estimator of the Year by the American Society of Professional Estimators at its annual convention. Phillips is chief estimator at Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. in Little Rock.

Katie Henry has recently been named interim general counsel at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Henry has served as associate general counsel at the university for the past four years.

Randall Woods was awarded the Paul Mellon Visiting Professor fellowship at Cambridge University. Woods, a professor of history at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, conducted a seminar for doctoral students and was the keynote speaker for the Age of Lyndon Johnson conference during the two-week fellowship in England.

Tim Lepczyk has joined Hendrix College in Conway as a fellow in digital humanities and pedagogy with a two-year fellowship grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. In his position, Lepczyk is responsible for encouraging the incorporation of digital media into the teaching methods of Hendrix College faculty.

Stacy Akin has become a partner at McClelland Consulting Engineers Inc. of Little Rock. Akin joined the firm in 2003 and was promoted to senior associate in 2010. He specializes in roadway design, construction administration and drainage analysis.

J.D. Chambliss, Jordan Hurst, Jordan Patterson and Eric Roberts have been promoted within the Arkansas State Bank Department. Chambliss, Hurst and Patterson are now junior examiners, and Roberts was promoted to assistant examiner.

Reagan Miller, Nickolas Hall and Tracey DeLong have joined Regions Insurance Group of Little Rock in the commercial lines department as marketing representatives. Newcomers to the industry, Miller received an insurance degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, while Hall, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, served as an intern before joining the group full time. DeLong has 20 years of experience in the insurance sector. Her work will focus on large commercial accounts.


Diane Carroll has been hired as the media relations manager at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. Prior to the move, Carroll was editor-in-chief of At Home in Arkansas, a monthly design magazine.
