Longtime KATV-TV, Channel 7, photographer Tim Hamilton has left a 32-year career with the Little Rock TV station to work for his alma mater.
Hamilton, 54, started working for KATV the same month in 1980 that he graduated from Harding University in Searcy and spent decades shooting footage of Arkansas Razorbacks sports and news.
He spent his entire career at KATV and was senior photographer when he left. As of the end of August, Hamilton is multimedia producer for the Harding Sports Network. In the new role, Hamilton will work with live streaming video of Harding sporting events, aired online, and teach a video production class in the university’s communications department.
The opportunity to return to Harding and share his TV experience with students made the new job attractive, he said.
“I really couldn’t tell you any other job that I would’ve even considered because I really loved KATV,” Hamilton said.
