Anne O'Leary-Kelly, Vikas Anand and Molly Rapert have been named to interim leadership positions at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. O'Leary-Kelly was designated interim associate dean, Anand was named interim master of business administration director, and Rapert was named interim honors college program director.
Bruce Plopper recently won the Laurence Campbell Research Award from the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication. The award, which the University of Arkansas at Little Rock professor has won for the fourth time, was for his top faculty paper, "Scholastic Journalism Teacher Use of Digital Devices and Social Networking Tools." The paper was co-authored by Anne Conaway, a former graduate student at UALR.
Charles H. Johnson III of Little Rock has been named deputy director at the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs. Johnson is a retired colonel who served 25 years in the Marine Corps. He held various key positions including division chief in the Joint Staff Strategic Plans & Policy Directorate at the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., and commanding officer of the Wounded Warrior Battalion West and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County, Calif.
Dr. Daniela Ochoa has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. Ochoa is a breast surgeon and instructor in the division of breast surgical oncology in the College of Medicine.
Dr. Samina Nadvi and Dr. Cecil Gaby have joined the pediatric care team at Sparks Health System in Fort Smith. Nadvi sees patients at Sparks Pediatrics clinic, and Gaby brings his pediatric specialty to the hospitalist program at Sparks Regional Medical Center.
Dawn Brown has been hired at the North Arkansas Regional Center in Harrison as manager of the obstetrics and women's center. Prior to the move, Brown, a registered nurse since 1998, was the emergency department director and trauma program manager at Mercy Hospital in Berryville. She has also previously served as director of obstetrics and staff nurse in the labor and delivery department at Mercy.
Bryan Gott has taken the position of creative director at Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods in the firm's Springdale office. Gott has 15 years of design experience. Gott previously was vice president and creative director at Mars Avertising in Bentonville.
Calvin Hill has been hired as a senior software developer at technology consulting firm Mainstream Technologies in Little Rock. Before joining the staff of Mainstreatm Technologies, Hill had been employed by Market Strategies International in North Little Rock.
