Home BancShares Named to Sandler O'Neill Small-Cap All Stars List (Kudos)

  • Home BancShares Inc. of Conway, the parent company of Centennial Bank, has been named to the Sandler O'Neill Small-Cap All Stars List for 2012. The list recognizes the top-performing banks and thrifts in the nation with market capitalization of less than $2 billion. "Home BancShares is proud to be included again among the elite list of small-cap banks and thrifts," CEO Randy Sims said. "Receiving this distinct honor for the third time in five years is evidence to our commitment to growth of the company, solid financial performance, conservative credit culture, strong capital levels and creation of long-term value for our shareholders."   
  • The College of the Ouachitas in Malvern is one of 10 finalists for the Aspen Institute's 2013 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The winner and up to four finalists, which will be announced in March, will share in a $1 million prize. "The administration and faculty are focused on providing students with the tools and support they need, placing a premium on identifying concrete ways to change entire college programs to improve student learning and completion," the Aspen Institute said of the College of the Ouachitas in a news release. "As a result, three-year graduation and transfer rates have increased steadily over the past several years from 40 percent in 2006 to 52 percent in 2010."
