Little Rock's Antique Brick & Block announced Thursday that it will expand its manufacturing facility and add nine full-time jobs.
The facility is located at Ninth and Bond streets just east of downtown. In addition to the full-time jobs that will be added, company officials said the expansion would require 24 temporary and construction jobs. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Founded in 1979, Antique Brick distributes "brick, concrete block, man-made and natural stone, architectural pre-cast and other masonry products for use by commercial architects, engineers, general contractors, residential homebuilders and landscape designers," according to a news release.
"This new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has two great benefits in our eyes," said Jason Garner, the company's vice president of sales. "First, we'll be able to increase the level of service and quality by vertically integrating our custom product offerings to architects and general contractors, and second, we have the added privilege of creating new jobs in an area and time period when economic activity has been low.
"We are committed to the resurgence and redevelopment of downtown Little Rock's original industrial area, and this expansion will hopefully contribute to that recovery."
