Unemployment Fund Rebounds From Depletion

Arkansas’ Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund, depleted in 2009, had a balance of $144.57 million as of Oct. 12, according to the Department of Workforce Services.
The state had borrowed more than $350 million from the federal government under what is known as the Title XII Advance program.
DWS spokeswoman Kimberly Friedman said the balance owed to the federal gov-rnment is $269.5 million, which should be repaid before 2015.
