Melony Goodhand, the CFO of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, has submitted her resignation effective Dec. 31.
Goodhand is leaving to be the chief operating officer for a health system in Tennessee, according to an email that UAMS Chancellor Dan Rahn sent to employees on Tuesday.
Goodhand joined UAMS in 2004, after working as a vice president for finance and chief compliance officer at Genesys Health System in Milford, Mich.
"She has provided strategic direction for our institution in the area of finance and has been a key member of the chancellor’s cabinet," Rahn said in the statement. "We will be forming a search committee soon to begin recruiting a new vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer. I know you join me in thanking Melony for her years of service to UAMS and wish her the best as she returns home to Tennessee."
