Arkansas State Taps Texas Offensive Coordinator Bryan Harsin As New Football Coach

Arkansas State is expected to name Texas co-offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin as its next football coach today.

A 2 p.m. press conference is scheduled in Jonesboro to announce the new coach. Harsin, 35, is the hire, according to multiple sources.

Harsin, who spent five years at Boise State before joining the Texas staff in 2011, was making $675,000 annually. Contract details are not immediately available, but former coach Gus Malzahn was making $850,000 annually and Harsin's deal could be similar.

In 2009 Harsin was a finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top assistant coach.
