Pat Bradley, former Arkansas Razorback basketball star, has a new radio gig.
Bradley left KABZ-FM, 103.7 (The Buzz), of Little Rock to start a new sports radio show on KKSP-FM, 93.3 (Sports 93.3 The Source), also in Little Rock. The new show will launch early in May, after Bradley’s 90-day noncompete agreement ends.
Bradley said Feb. 1 was his final day co-hosting The Zone on KABZ.
On KKSP, Bradley will host a 6-9 a.m. sports talk show.
“It’s more than just a radio network of people,” Bradley said. “It’s a team that they’re building on multiple platforms and branding.”
Any co-hosts or work by Bradley in other media venues are to be announced, he said.
Capital City Broadcasting owns KKSP, which switched from a news talk format to all sports in January.
Bradley co-hosted The Zone, which aired from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays on The Buzz, for nearly six years with KABZ Program Director Justin Acri. Signal Media of Arkansas owns KABZ.
Acri said he will host the show alone while the station considers “what to do next.”
“I’ll be continuing to do it right now and I’ll have various contributors for the short term,” Acri said.
By transitioning from The Buzz to KKSP, Bradley is rejoining sports talker Bo Mattingly. Mattingly switched his sports show in December from The Buzz to air on KKSP.
Also new to KKSP is veteran TV sportscaster Mike Irwin, who this month began making daily one-hour appearances on Wess Moore and Michael Smith’s sports show “Game On.” “Game On” airs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays.
Moore is a former sports anchor for Gannett Co.-owned CBS affiliate KTHV-TV, Channel 11. Smith is a former Arkansas Razorbacks running back.
Irwin’s TV job is with NBC affiliate KNWA-TV in Fayetteville.
In addition, Moore last week also began reporting on sports for KLRT-TV, Channel 16, of Little Rock. He referred questions to KLRT General Manager Mike Vaughn, who did not return phone calls.
