Stone Ward Adds Four (Movers & Shakers)


Joseph A. Sanford has received the 2012 MacAngel Discussion Leader of the Year Award from the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He founded Sanford & Co. of Mena in 1988 and has more than 36 years of accounting experience.

Tracy Harrelson has been promoted to the position of audit partner at JPMS Cox in Little Rock. Before joining the staff as head of the employee benefits department in 2006, she was employed by Ernst & Young for seven years. Harrelson is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of CPAs.


Eric Pendergrass, vice president and general counsel for Burford Distributing of Fort Smith, has been elected to the board of directors of Wholesale Beer Distributors of Arkansas. He is also a member of Smith Cohen & Horan, a law firm also based in Fort Smith.


Josh Dunlap of Greenbrier has been hired by Arvest Bank as a business banking loan officer in Conway. Dunlap was previously a vice president, branch manager and loan officer for Regions Bank. He is a member of the 2013 class of the Faulkner County Leadership Institute.

Health Care

John Yarbrough of Little Rock has been named the director of development for grants at the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, which is dedicated to raising awareness and financial support for related programs and services. Yarbrough was previously employed with the St. Vincent Foundation, which is part of the St. Vincent Health System.

John Larson has joined the staff of the Pain Management Clinic at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. Prior to his appointment, Larson completed a residency in internal medicine at Cooper Hospital in Camden, N.J. He also completed anesthesia residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia.

Max Arroyo of Jonesboro has rejoined the staff of St. Bernards Heart & Vascular after completing advanced training as an interventional cardiologist. Prior to his current position, Arroyo worked as a general physician at Clinica Carlos Duran in San Jose, Calif., and served a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Memphis.


Adam Smith has been hired as director of business development at Aon Risk Solutions in Little Rock. Smith was previously employed as assistant vice president and statewide transportation practice leader for Frost Insurance in Texas and has 12 years of experience in commercial insurance. He will be responsible for expanding Aon’s transportation insurance business in Arkansas and surrounding areas.


Misty Wilson Borkowski has joined the staff of Cross Gunter Witherspoon & Galchus in Little Rock. Borkowski previously taught immigration law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Bowen School of Law. Prior to joining CGWG she spent five years practicing immigration law at another Little Rock firm.


Jillian Oyler, Katie Hodges, Elizabeth Machen and Angela Connell have new jobs at Stone Ward advertising agency in Little Rock. Oyler, who has been named community manager, previously managed Arvest Bank’s social media community and produced content for its website. Hodges, Stone Ward’s new promotions specialist, was previously a marketing intern at Verizon Wireless. Machen, now brand manager, was formerly a technical marketing associate for Wright Medical Technology. Connell, previously membership director for the Batesville Chamber of Commerce, is now a public relations account executive for Stone Ward.

Real Estate

Tracy Tidwell and George Heintzen of Conway have received the Agent Team Production Award from ERA Henley Real Estate. Tidwell and Heintzen have closed on a combined total of 76 residential units throughout Faulkner and surrounding counties.
